By Robert D. Stuart - PCA

In the book of Colossians, the Apostle Paul emphasizes the preeminence of Christ. Our all-sufficient Savior is the Creator God, who rules heaven and earth. Christ is notjust a teacher; He is Yahweh Himself.
Paul confronted the false teaching in Colossae, which had found its way into the church. The same threat of false teaching faces the church community today. Believers guard against such error through Bible study that goes beyond a discussion of subjective thoughts, experiences, and impressions. This study isintended to help students of the Bible wrestle with the text of Scripture.
To get the most from this study, learners should answer the questions throughout each chapter. They may do so before themeeting or class; or they may do the work at homeafter the session. Leaders may also use the questions to stimulate discussion on the topic found inthe lesson.
Though this study of Colossians wasdeveloped for use in an adult Sunday school class, many have used the content for personal study, oras an aid in leading others to know God’s Word more deeply.

Robert D. Stuart currently servesas Pastor of Shepherding and Leadership at Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church in Ballwin, MO.
