By Kathleen Nielson-PCA. The much-requested second volume of Psalms guides readers in further in-depth study of specific psalms, again representing a diverse selection (psalms of praise, of lament, etc.). Careful attention is given to poetic form and content together, as well as to the psalms crucial place in the whole biblical story, with Jesus Christ at the center. Twelve lessons, each with five days of questions, offer context and direction as they point readers to close examination of the biblical text. The aim is to help readers develop their ability to dig into the psalms words with understanding and through that process to help them grow in faithful devotion and discipleship. The psalms inspired poetry reaches into all parts of the human journey, showing us how to speak to God and about God along the way. This study encourages us to join in well with centuries of Gods people singing and praying on their journey to Zion.

Kathleen holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in literature from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. from Wheaton College (Illinois). She has taught in the English departments at Vanderbilt University, Bethel College (Minnesota), and Wheaton College.
